Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Yachtmaster Ready you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of service

Yachtmaster Ready is a qualification-aware sailing logbook for RYA Yachtmaster Offshore candidates. It calculates readiness indicators from the passages you log. Readiness indicators are informational only — they are not an official RYA assessment and do not constitute certification advice.

3. Accounts and sessions

You may use the service anonymously. An opaque session identifier is stored in an HTTP-only cookie and identifies your logbook. If you attach an email address you take responsibility for keeping that address accurate and accessible. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your session.

4. Subscription and billing

The free tier is available without payment. Premium features require a paid annual subscription processed through Stripe. Subscription fees are charged at the start of each billing period and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Your data

You retain ownership of the passage records and other content you enter. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
  • Introduce malicious code or interfere with the availability of the service.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce the service in ways not permitted by these terms.
  • Log fabricated passage data with intent to deceive an RYA examiner or examiner body.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that readiness calculations are complete, accurate, or will be accepted by the RYA or any other certification body. We make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to the service

We may modify or discontinue features at any time. Where changes materially affect paid subscribers we will give reasonable notice.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
